The Phoenix 4.0 project will officially open its Call for Collaborative Projects for tourism SMEs on 15 January 2025, inviting companies across Europe to join forces and develop innovative, sustainable and resilient solutions for the tourism sector.
The call is designed to support collaborative projects involving 2 to 5 partners, with a strong focus on innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and new forms of cooperation. Individual applications will not be accepted; collaboration is at the core of the initiative.
Types of collaboration
The call encourages different collaboration models, including:
Tourism SMEs working together, such as hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, experience providers and other tourism-related businesses.
Tourism SMEs partnering with another tourism entity, for example a larger tourism company, a national or regional authority, a destination management organisation (DMO) or a tourism association.
Tourism SMEs collaborating with cross-sector entities, including organisations from culture, handicrafts, digital entertainment, agri-food, social economy, textiles and other related sectors that can bring new perspectives and innovation to tourism.
Funding and support
The call is open to tourism SMEs established in Slovenia, Spain, Croatia, Kosovo, France and Iceland. Selected projects will receive financial support of up to €25,000, with a maximum of €15,000 for Kosovo-based SMEs, along with expert mentorship and access to strategic partnerships within the Phoenix 4.0 ecosystem.
