Building Resilience in Tourism SMEs

Description

With 30 years' experience in the tourism and hotel industry, I have developed an expertise in flow management, labelling, digitalisation and tourism marketing. My vision is based on a holistic vision of tourism (private and public approach). I have created MP2G, a company specialising in sharing expertise by training Masters students and coaching hotel and trourism professionals. My goal is to help them align their skills with a tailor-made approach that promotes virtuous and sustainable tourism.

"Based on my experience at the Pont du Gard site, which is highly seasonal and attracts a diverse range of visitors, I developed strategic initiatives to adapt the services on offer, optimise visitor reception and structure the internal organisation during peak periods. Today, as part of my mandate to manage a tourist residence in the Médoc (in a major natural ecosystem), I am applying these principles to encourage local recruitment, with vacancies available all year round, and to support sustainable employment. The aim was to design the offer to respond to the problem of employability and accessibility by crossing the estuary by boat, by proposing an offer with arrivals and departures every day, seasonal rentals of 4 days for a more social tourism... My approach is part of a vision of more responsible tourism, taking into account traffic constraints to allow fluid access and encourage visitors to come outside weekends. This means putting in place precise indicators, monitoring customer journeys and redesigning offers to encourage visitors to discover the site outside peak periods. This approach also allows employees to distribute their working hours more evenly over the week. From a marketing point of view, this means adapting messages, creating digital tools to make it easier for visitors to go off the beaten track, and setting up a destination welcome booklet in the accommodation. At the same time, I'm developing services such as the provision of bicycles to limit environmental impact and solutions to encourage responsible waste management at the place of stay. These are all initiatives that contribute to responsible and virtuous tourism. "
