Big news for small businesses! The European project PHOENIX 4.0 has officially launched its call to support 130 tourism SMEs in six countries on their path to sustainability, digitalisation, and resilience.
If you're a small or medium-sized tourism business this is your chance to join a unique programme – completely free of charge – that combines:
- Tailored online training with top European experts on various topics
- One-on-one coaching to strengthen your strategy and innovation capacity
- Cross-border networking with like-minded professionals
- Up to €25,000 in funding to bring your sustainable ideas to life - only SMEs based in Spain,France,Slovenia, Croatia, Iceland or Kosovo

What’s the goal of Phoenix 4.0?
To help SMEs tackle real-world challenges like seasonality, crisis recovery, or overtourism –and build more future-proof, competitive business models.
SMEs eligibility criteria to join the PHOENIX 4.0 project:
- Be a SME(fewer than 250 employees,< €50M turnover, financiallyindependent)
- Be based in an eligible country
- Operate in the tourism, hospitality, or creative sectors, cross-sector SMEs are welcome.
- For funding opportunities: Only are eligible, SMEs from France, Iceland, Croatia, Kosovo,Slovenia, and Spain,operating under the following NACE codes: I5510, I5520,I5530, I5610, I5630,N79, R90, R93. The supported SMEs do not need to be registered under those NACE classes, provided that they can prove that they have active economic activities in the relevant NACE codes.
How to join?

- Complete the Resilience Navigator self-assessment
- Once these steps are done, you’ll get full access to the learning programme and can apply for funding (optional but encouraged!)

Timeline:
- Registrations open: July – August 2025
- Trainings start: October 2025
- Funding call: January–April 2026
