Seasonality and Over-Tourism Impact on Local Communities - In my professional experience, I've worked with several rural and coastal tourism destinations where seasonality creates a significant challenge. These areas often experience a boom in visitors during the peak summer months, leading to overcrowding and a strain on local resources. While during the off-season, the lack of visitors leads to economic hardship for local businesses, job insecurity, and diminished cultural activities. This is an important topic to be tackled as it would ensure that local communities benefit sustainably from tourism without being overwhelmed during peak periods - for which finding solutions to spread tourism more evenly across the year would be essential for the long-term health of the tourism sector and the preservation of the community’s unique culture and environment.
